Welcome to the Ju52-Hangar of Traditionsgemeinschaft

Lufttransport Wunstorf e. V.

( Air Transport Community of Tradition )

Our non-profit community has emerged from the Community of Tradition of Air Transport Wing 62 (LTG 62) in 2004.

Aims and purpose:

•Promoting contacts between retired and active personnel of the air transport units of the German Armed Forces

•Maintaining contacts between people related with military air transport

•Exchange of information between people interested in helicopter and transport aviation and related history

•Presentation and cultivation of military air transport history

•Preventive maintenance of historical military air transport history

Members of our community are:

•Active and retired military and civil personnel of Air Transport Wing 62 (LTG 62)

•People who feel bound up with the air transport units of the Air Force or our Air Transport Community of Tradition

At Wunstorf Air Base our Community of Tradition runs an indoor and outdoor exposition of military-historical exhibits that is open to the public.

The centerpiece of our exposition is a Junkers Ju52 , one of the last specimen world-wide kept in its original condition. In a spectacular recovery action in 1986 taken by Special Interest Group Ju 52 (founded for that purpose) the plane was lifted from the bottom of Norwegian Lake Hartvikvann where it had spent more than forty years. After expert restoration at Wunstorf Air Base it has become the outstanding attraction of our museum.

In cooperation with LTG 62 we furthermore present to you a crosscut view of aviation history with e.g. the following exhibits:

Transport aircraft Noratlas N 2501

Liasion airplane Do28

Helicopters UH-1 D and Mi 8

Piaggio 149 D

Glider

Moreover we have special exhibitions and show-cases with original aviation exhibits. - Click here for Dates / Events
